Privacy Policy

Last updated: 12 September 2026

Jachai (“the app”) helps you check whether an image was likely generated by AI. This policy explains what happens to the images and information you give us. It applies to the Jachai Android app and the Jachai web app.

The short version: we do not ask you to create an account, we do not collect your name or contact details, and we do not keep the images you check. An image you submit is sent for analysis, a result comes back, and the image is discarded.

Information we handle

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, precise location, or advertising identifiers. The app has no user accounts and no login.

How your images are used

An image you submit is transmitted over an encrypted connection to our server, which forwards it to Sightengine, a third-party image analysis provider, solely to produce a verification result. The result is returned to your device.

Images may exist briefly in memory or in transit while being processed. They are not retained after the result is delivered. Technical logs are kept only as long as needed for operations and security.

Permissions the app requests

You can revoke these permissions at any time in your device settings. The app cannot verify images without internet access.

What the results mean

Jachai reports a likelihood, not a certainty. Results are given as “likely AI-generated”, “uncertain”, or “likely original”. The app detects images that were generated by AI; it cannot reliably detect a photo that has been edited or in which two real photographs have been spliced together. Results are informational and should not be treated as proof in legal, journalistic, or official matters.

Children

Jachai is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS. Because we do not retain your images or hold personal accounts, there is very little stored data to be exposed. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

Since we do not create accounts or store personal data, there is generally no personal information for us to retrieve, correct, or delete. If you believe we hold information about you and want it removed, contact us using the details below and we will respond.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date. Material changes will also be noted in the app.
